Thursday, March 3rd, 2016

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists for our three submissions made to the 2016 Ground Engineering Awards. Along with Bam Ferrovial Kier JV (BFK), Crossrail, the British Geological Survey and Monitor Optics Systems we have been shortlisted for three entries across two categories. The awards will take place at The Hilton, Park Lane in June of this year.

In the  Award for Technical Excellence  category, we are shortlisted twice as follows:

  • Construction of TBM reception cavern (STE1) at Farringdon with no pilot tunnel, sidewall drift or temporary invert (with Crossrail and BFK)
  • Use of a 3D geological model as a geological risk management tool at Farringdon Crossrail station (Crossrail, BFK and British Geological Survey)

And for the  Product and Equipment Innovation  category:

  • Tunnel Watch - Fibre optic strain monitoring of SCL tunnels at Farringdon (Crossrail, BFK, and Monitor Optics)

The event attracts the biggest names in the industry as well as international interest, and the 2016 Ground Engineering Awards are back celebrating engineering excellence of the finest firms in the country. The 14 categories are designed to showcase the industry's achievements.

The shortlisted companies will be invited to attend a judging day in which their entries will be presented to a panel of clients and experts in a bid to win. It is an opportunity to demonstrate the skills, experience and achievements of all the team members involved and the project’s overall success.

We would like to thank all of the staff members for their effort in the submissions, helping us reach the shortlist in all three categories.
