EURO:TUN 2017 is the fourth conference of a series of successful ECCOMAS Thematic Conferences on Computational Methods in Tunneling, started in 2007 in Vienna and continued in 2009 and 2013 in Bochum.
Every two years, industry leaders and practitioners from around the world gather at the Rapid Excavation and Tunneling Conference (RETC), the authoritative program for the tunneling profession, to learn about the most recent advances and breakthroughs in this unique field. Dr.
Since 21st March 2016, Dr. Sauer & Partners has been supporting a Masters Thesis in coordination with the Technical University of Graz. The topic of the thesis is “Trigger Values in Sprayed Concrete Lined (SCL) Shallow Tunnels” and is prepared by Thomas Meixner.
Since our update in October last year, the works for the Confederation line in Ottawa have moved on significantly. The project is on schedule for 2018 and apparently, unless you are living directly on top of it, the activity below ground could go unnoticed.
The World Tunnel Congress for 2016 will take place in San Francisco later this month, and Dr. Sauer & Partners will be present at the event.
After winning first place in the Crossrail Technical Papers Competition, Dr. Angelos Gakis will present his paper tomorrow evening at the ICE with one of the co-authors, David Entwisle.
Start of SCL construction is imminent as Dr. Sauer & Partners submit Arthur Street Construction Shaft Design to LU for Compliance. In parallel DLR Sprayed Concrete Lining (SCL) temporary works designs have evolved.
On Friday 11th March, Dr. Sauer & Partners was proud sponsor of the BTS Young Members Conference which took place at Pinsent Masons’ offices in central London.
We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists for our three submissions made to the 2016 Ground Engineering Awards.
Tunnelling works in Bond Street Station are now almost complete. The Southern tunnels were delivered in September 2015 and 30% of the Northern tunnels have already been handed over to the fit out team.
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Angelos Gakis has successfully been awarded first place for his paper "3D Geological Model of the Completed Farringdon Underground Railway Station".
After the completion of the Feasibility and Pre-Concept Study the project has now entered the Concept Design stage. Dr. Sauer & Partners is part of the design team selected by Transport for London to progress the design into the next stage.
