The Importance of CPD at Dr. Sauer & Partners

Thursday, November 12th, 2015

For the employees of Dr. Sauer & Partners, Continuing Professional Development [CPD] ensures that they keep their knowledge and skills up to date. It also allows them to maintain the professional standard of their qualifications and registrations. CPD is hugely beneficial for our employees’ career progression and advancement and forms part of our annual performance appraisal programme. Every employee within our company has regular reviews with Senior Management where their training and development needs are discussed, aligned with company objectives and development plans put in place for the following year.

Dr. Sauer & Partners recognises the value of investing in the CPD of its employees and makes available individual training budgets for its workforce to utilise each year. The company strongly supports its engineers to become chartered with the Institute of Civil Engineers and provides the financial and time investment to allow them to fulfil this attainment. In the last year it has also supported development and training in the important field of Building Information Management [BIM] and recognises the value of having a CAD workforce trained within this advancing field.

For Dr. Sauer & Partners, the primary benefit of CPD is ensuring that work standards across the company are kept high and consistent. CPD promotes greater work engagement from our workforce and the commitment to both the project teams and job roles. CPD also contributes to maximising employee potential by preparing individuals for promotion or transitions to other projects either in the UK or to one of our overseas operations; it aims to improve employee morale and provides a useful benchmark for our annual performance appraisal programme.
