During the early stages of the station upgrade process, Dr. Sauer & Partners Ltd. provides geotechnical and Sprayed Concrete Lining (SCL) specialist expertise to a multidisciplinary team headed by Hyder Consulting and the architect firm Weston Williamson+Partners.
Farringdon station is at the heart of the Crossrail project. Upon its completion, the station will become one of Britain’s busiest where passengers will be able to access three major networks – Thameslink, Crossrail and London Underground.
On Thursday 4th December, the winners of the 2014 International Tunnelling & Underground Space Awards, were announced. Petr Salak, Dr. Sauer & Partners, is the winner of the Award Young Tunneller of the Year.

Works are now underway at this Central London tube station, with the completion of both SCL shafts and over 60m of sprayed concrete tunnels to date.
Work has finally commenced on Farringdon Station with the break-out of the piles and the first meters of excavation of the STW2-PL1 pilot Tunnel.
The long awaited Devil's Slide Tunnel on Highway 1 south of San Francisco opened to traffic after more than 5 years of excavation. The invitation-only opening ceremony drew several hundred people, many of them local residents who fought for the tunnel over several decades.
