BSCU Pile Interception Solutions Wins Fleming Award 2019

Thursday, December 5th, 2019

The British Geotechnical Association’s 2019 Fleming Award presentation took place last night at the ICE in Westminster, and there were celebrations all round as the Pile Interception solution designed and constructed at the Bank Station Capacity Upgrade project was crowned the winner!

The solution was successfully delivered by TfL as a result of open collaboration with key stakeholders: building owners The Worshipful Company of Grocers, Dragados UK as the Design and Build Contractor, Arup in the role of engineering advisor to The Grocers and Dr. Sauer & Partners as Tunnel Design Consultant.

The award recognises excellence in the practical application of geotechnics in a project that has been substantially completed within the past two years.  There is also an emphasis on teamwork across the different disciplines involved in a project and well as innovation.

Very many congratulations to all those involved in this project and the delivery of this pioneering solution.
