The World Tunnel Congress for 2025 kicks off this weekend in Stockholm, Sweden, running until Thursday 15th May. The key theme of this year’s congress is one that sits at the heart of Dr. Sauer & Partners' ethos - ‘Tunnelling into a Sustainable Future’, focusing on how underground solutions can contribute to sustainable cities and infrastructure.
The event will see over 3,000 experts from more than 80 countries convene for almost 600 presentations covering various aspects of tunnelling and underground construction with technical site visits to notable projects like Förbifart Stockholm and the new Stockholm Metro.
We are delighted that Dr. Sauer & Partners will be represented at this year’s event, with Juergen Laubbichler, Brian Lyons and Petr Salak. On Monday, Petr will present our work for the Preliminary Design on the Tunnelling Scheme for the Tel Aviv Metro Line M2 as well as discussing the Automation of the Design Process for Conventionally Mined Tunnels. He is also part of the ITACUS Diplomatic Lounge on Wednesday where he will present the Young Professional Think Deep Programme looking at Deep Planning for Strategic Cavern Development.
