Dr. Sauer & Partners is proud to announce the successful completion of its work on the Sorek 2 Seawater Desalination Plant, one of the world's largest desalination facilities. In collaboration with IDE Technologies, a global leader in water treatment headquartered in Israel, we served as the Owner's Engineer, providing design checking, document reviewing support, and pipejacking tunnel inspection services.
The completion of the Sorek 2 Plant marks a significant milestone in Israel’s water economy. This reverse osmosis seawater desalination facility, with a production capacity of 200 million m³ per annum, is part of a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme. It ensures a secure water supply for the future while reducing the overall cost of water. This project will increase Israel's desalination capacity by 35%, greatly benefiting the nation.
Petr Salak, Managing Director of Dr. Sauer & Partners' Israel operations, commented: “We are thrilled to have been a part of this transformative project. Working alongside IDE Technologies has been a valuable experience, and we are proud to contribute to a project that will have a lasting positive impact on Israel's water resources.”
