London Clay in the spotlight

Wednesday, April 25th, 2018

The exceptionally good ground conditions in London are key for the city’s long history of underground infrastructure and its ongoing thriving expansion.

A new permanent exhibition at The London Transport Museum, Digging Deeper, tells the story of tunnelling throughout the ages, and is giving credit to London Clay and its outstanding properties for tunnelling.

Dr. Sauer & Partners together with Dragados and London Underground are happy to support the museum and provided London Clay from the Bank Station Capacity Upgrade (BSCU) project, one of London’s largest infrastructure projects currently in progress. The London Clay was handed over and its engineering significance explained by Dr. Sauer & Partners Andrea Pamsl, who is a SCL Engineer and Geologist.
